Catholic and World History Jeopardy

http://www2.fairmontstate.edu/users/wcoda/cj.ppt
I am enrolled in the M.Ed.Professional Studies program at Fairmont State University. This program is designed to serve students in four categories. The category I chose this program for entails; "Adults who wish to simply pursue selected coursework and/or a degree in professional education for their own reasons, e.g.home schooling, private tutoring, etc." Etc. can mean many different things. I might get into private tutoring. I will have the freedom to find people who want to learn what I have learned in life; which has only happened through the grace of God. There are all kinds of possibilities. I do not understand the significance of this assignment. Teachers are always saying that they wish children would watch less television, and read more books; yet we have to do an assignment based on a T.V. show. But I want to stress that I do not have all of the answers. I will comply with what I am required to do, with the faith that I will learn something. I hope you enjoy my project. I do not have any ill feelings if someone disagrees with my opinions. I respect an individuals right to their own opinion. I humbly ask that you understand that I have mine.
May God bless you and help you through this violent, evil world! There is peace and enlightenment through God; nowhere else. God bless all of you. I will pray for you all. I love each and every one of you and I pray that God touches your heart the way he has mine. I am a worthless sinner; but God still chose to have mercy on me and bring me into his loving arms. I fight this because I am a weak and stupid human being. God is so magnificent, that he chooses to save me from my evil ways. I thank you with all my heart, dear God. I also thank my Guardian Angel. Without her, I would be a worse mess than I am. God will not give up on me and neither will she! I do not deserve this mercy; I only get it because God is pure and total love. Please forgive me lord, and carry me through these difficult times. To think I can do it on my own is a sin. I believe this is one sin that I have a chance of not continuing; but only through your eternal mercy and forgiveness. Thank you for loving me enough to give me a Guardian Angel. She has done her job; it is me that continues to fail! In closing, I would like to say a prayer that means a lot to me:
Dear Angel,in his goodness God gave you to me to guide, protect, and enlighten me, and to bring me back to the right way when I go astray. Encourage me when I am disheartened, and instruct me when I err in my judgement. Help me to become more Christlike, and so some day to be accepted in the company of Angels and Saints in Heaven. Amen
To this I would like to add; please forgive me when I take your mercy and help for granted. Please help me not to continue these sins. Please help me with all of my sins. Please forgive me for the judgements I make; only you have the right to judge. Please guide me toward the love of the path you have chosen for me. Please bring every soul to into your love and care. I have faith in your love. Please take that faith and continue to make it grow.
May God's love be with each and every one of you! I have faith that it is.

6305-Pope History

This lesson plan was meant to be a history lesson. I picked four of the most influential popes in history. I believe this lesson is important to both Catholics and non-Catholics because of its historical accuracy. I used unbiased sources to keep it from being a Catholic interpetaion of history. I also added my own opinions about events and people. I believe this relates to my first photo story because they both are a part of society. My B.S. is in Sociology. I admit however, that it is a weak link; because these two subjects would most likely not be taught in the same class. I could have done a much better job in relating the two projects.

6305- Power Point Lesson Plan; Dominique Swain Films

My biggest problem is that I have never taken a computer class before. Now I deeply regret that. I use dictionary.com quite a bit on most of the terms. Ninety percent of what I do is wrong. This is frustrating in two ways. Time is obviously an issue. Learning the parts that I finally get right is another issue. I tried to take notes,as I went along, but that gets even more confusing when 90% of your notes are wrong. (Adapt and overcome!)Now I take notes after I get something right, but even that is hard because I often learn by just trying several things; or "playing around with it." This approach is working better, but I don't always remember how I got to where I found success. But the approach is working better than trying to write everything down. It feels really good when you get something right. I was stressing out about posting this assignment on the web. Once I stumbled upon it, it was very easy. I felt like an idiot. I am used to that though. The creating of the assignment was relatively easy. The content part is my thing, the computer part is not. For example; I was stuck for two days trying to figure out the color change. The directions would not work. I could have left it the color it was, but I really wanted to do my best on it; try my best. I hate giving up, and now I am glad that I did not. Finally a friend showed me how to change the color; a way that was not in the tutorial. I'm not blaming the tutorial, I was probably doing something wrong. Changing the .pptx to a .ppt and then a .ppsx to a .pps, was an absolute nightmare. A friend helped me but I still could not get it right, but I finally did; but I was not sure how. Then later a classmate sent me a chat message asking me how I did it; I was horrified. There is no way I could not help her, so I went back I tried to figure out what I did. She finally got it on her blog but I was not sure if she had the .pps; she did get the .ppt though, and I think she got it right but, I was not positive. My lesson plan is on the web, buy anyone could make changes to it. I can't figure out how to make it so they cannot. I posted for help, so if I can; I will change it. I'm not sure if I even need to do that or not. Overall I am proud of my work.

My Photostory 1

I watched a lot of my classmates stories tonight and I enjoyed them. I am the only one who did not use my own photos. I have some explanations for that. First of all, I cannot afford a camera right now. But even if I could, I am not comfortable with putting my pictures out. As an actor you might find that weird, but I have only worked on stage, in Theatres where no camera's were allowed. I prefer directing and producing anyway. The spotlight does not appeal to me. It makes me sick actually. I prefer to work from the shadows. Plus I would NEVER put my family out there either. It is just not me. No offense to anyone who did. My family is large, but we are very private. I know this is hard to understand and go ahead and think I am weird; I am. You would just have to of grown up the way I did. We NEVER had anyone at our house, besides family. We were very isolated. Very protective. That has stuck with me. I don't mean to be rude, but my family is my business and so is my private life. I am a very friendly person, but I have a line that I do not cross. If you think that losing points for that scares me, then you have not heard a word I have said. I have my reasons and I respect those who feel differently, I just ask that you appreciate my beliefs and lifestyle. I do not like to draw attention to myself, except through my art. In my story I told a lot about myself and my beliefs. I feel I opened up, which would surprise people I grew up with. I invoked artistic license to tell about myself, without putting me or my family in a place where we are not comfortable and DO NOT want to be. I am a very private person and I will stay that way. There is no other option. I hope you enjoy my piece. GOD BLESS YOU All!- William Coda

Prayer

Prayer by Cardinal John Henry Newman, Prayed Often by Blessed Teresa of Calcutta
Dear Jesus, help us to spread your fragrance everywhere we go. Flood our souls with your spirit and life. Penetrate and possess our whole being, so utterly, that our lives may only be a radiance of yours. Shine through us, that every soul we come in contact with may feel your presence in our soul. Let them look up and see no longer us but only Jesus! Stay with us, and then we shall begin to shine as you shine; so to shine as to be a light to others. The light, O Jesus will be from you. None of it will be ours; it will be your shinning on others through us. Let us thus praise you in the way that you love best by shinning on those around us. Let us preach you preaching: not by words but by our example, by the catching force, by sympathetic influence of what we do, the evident fullness of the love our hearts bear to you. Amen

My Words

Today is a day America will never forget. I wish to say that we Americans also feel the pain of those effected by terrorism, war, and crime and violence of any kind around the world. Whether it be the innocent victims in Israel, Afghanistan, Iraq
or anywhere. We are all brothers and sister of God. I know many people outside of America grieve this day also. Thank you for your support and prayers! Violence should not be tolerated anywhere. Today I pray for America and the entire world. May we one day live in peace and respect each other the way God wants us to. No matter what your religion or beliefs, I pray for peace and happiness for our world. I am sorry!

Pope Benedict XVI Prayer for Peace:

Knights of Columbus
World Day of Prayer for Peace
September 11th.

God of peace, bring your peace to our violent world: peace in the hearts of all men and women and peace among nations of the earth. Turn to your way of love those whose hearts and minds are consumed with hatred.

God of understanding, overwhelmed by the magnitude of this tragedy, we seek your light and guidance as we comfort such terrible events. Grant that those whose lives were spared may live so that the lives lost ...may not have been lost in vain. Comfort and console us, strengthen us in hope, and give us the wisdom and courage to work tirelessly for a world where true peace and love reign among nations and in the hearts of all.

Divine Mercy

Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowfull Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless, and the treasury of compassion inexhaustable, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments, we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy Itself. Amen

Joseph Ratzinger
POPE BENEDICT XVI

God our Father, shepherd and guide
look with love on Benedict
your servant, the pastor of your church.
May his word and example inspire
and guide the Church, and
may he, and all those untrusted
to his care, come to the joy of
everlasting life.

Grant this through our Lord
Jesus Christ, your son,
who lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
