World Religions and Beliefs
I am currently helping to teach Catechism classes to ninth grade students at St. John University Perish. I also sponsor someone in the RCIA class this year. I picked a lesson on world religions and beliefs that would be appropriate to the classes that I am involved with. I made a bar graph of the world's four top religions and beliefs, and the approximate number of people who belong to each group. I want the students to discuss different beliefs from their own, similarities, and people they may know from each group. I made a spreadsheet for each group in the class to add up people they know of different faiths or beliefs. This is primarily and academic exercise, but I also hope it bridges the gap between Roman Catholic students and people with different belief systems.
